July 10

Hola! On July 10, we finished an exciting week in Salamanca by spending the day with our host families. To start the day, Eugenia and I went to church with our host mom at the San Esteban cathedral, which we had visited earlier in the week. The cathedral is huge, and has beautiful gold decorations in the middle and multiple chapels on the sides. Each view inside the cathedral is as wonderful as the last. Following the beautiful service, we ate tapas and had refreshments and then went home to relax. It was incredibly hot, even by Texan standards, with a high of 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit). After spending the day indoors, we watched the final Euro Cup fútbol game in the plaza mayor. Portugal won the game during overtime, with a final score of 1-0. After having ice cream in the plaza, we went home ready to start a new week. We look forward to our final few days in Salamanca, and are excited to see Madrid on Friday.
